From Goodreads: Waking up with a strange man is scary. Realizing you lost fifteen years of your life overnight? That's terrifying. With her memories from seventeen to thirty-two gone, Kate has no idea who she is and where she belongs. As she begins to fall for the man who found her, she wonders if she forgot those years for a reason. Should she keep trying to retrieve her original self, or start a new life?
My review: The premise of this story is fascinating – a woman wakes up to find out she doesn’t remember who she is. I loved investigating along side Kate as she discovers who she…or at least who she isn’t. I couldn't trust anyone at first, including Jake. The circumstances were too vague for me to be 100% cool with him. As the story progressed I was won over a bit on his side though. For me the really interesting part started the moment we knew Kate’s actual name, Donna. And then came a husband, a witchy mother-in-law, and more secrets.
The struggle Kate-Donna went through trying to feel comfortable in her own skin – fighting against the name and trying to fit into her life – gave the story a Alice in Wonderland feel. Things were all out of sorts - the reader spends the book trying to piece together her past using the characters she runs across in her journey...just like Alice does looking for the White Rabbit.
The ending was good, but I was really rooting for the guy she didn't end up. His character took an unexpected turn towards the last third of the story which I was a little bummed with but that didn't impact my view of the book overall.

Thank you for your honest review, Jennie! I'm glad you enjoyed the book overall even with the turn you didn't like as much. :)
